Media BarCamp 2011

On the 5-8 May 2011, SILC organised for the fourth time the international youth event (non)conference Media BarCamp. The event took place in Nida, Lithuania and gathered around 120 active youth from Belarus, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania and Sweden.

The concept of BarCamp is widely spread and a known (non)conference form, which comes from people’s aspiration to teach and learn in a non-formal environment. BarCamp is dedicated for open presentations and workshops.

Media BarCamp is an interactive event, where all participants use the open space for discussions, present their implemented projects or ideas, learn from each other and communicate. The main aim of this event is to promote new social media projects development in Belarus and to enlarge the communication possibilities for neighbouring countries youth.

During the Media BarCamp 2011 the participants got a lot of qualitative practical knowledge about active media, exchanged contacts, build networks and improved their skills in social media.
